What If Social Posting Didn't Feel So... Ugh?
Happy Mother's Day! Here's my weird gift to you.
Hey, it’s Jenessa.
In today’s issue:
Deep Dive: What If You Could Promote Your Work Without Saying a Word?
•DEEP DIVE
Would You Clone Yourself to Save Time? I Did.…
Because I want this day to be one where moms everywhere don't have to lift a finger…
Here's a little Mother's Day gift from me to you...
Okay—full disclosure: It's weird.
But it will help you cross that dreaded chore of posting consistently on social media off your to-do list.
Interested?
Even if it means cloning yourself? (Yep. I told you it was weird.)
I went first so you can be the judge—I cloned my voice to narrate my content without setting up a mic or struggling through a script.
Why?
I've been struggling to find the time and energy to promote my newsletter on social media—
Can you relate?
We pour everything into our designs, custom work, client deadlines, and then maybe—if we remember—post a quick story on social once a week.
And it's not just a time issue.
There's a real vulnerability in creating jewelry or any form of art, especially when it's personal.
Now layer on self-promotion by creating a video of you awkwardly smiling into the camera while trying to sound excited?
That's vulnerability stacked on top of vulnerability. It's no wonder we put it off.
Maybe you've said things like:
• "I hate how I look on camera."
• "My voice sounds weird."
• "I'm not a content creator—I'm a jeweler."
• "I don't have time to set up a tripod in the five minutes my bench is clean."
Trust me—I've said all that and more.
But here's the thing: you've created work that deserves to be seen.
And while I used to think social media had to be polished, personal, and perfectly on-brand… I'm now convinced it just needs to be doable.
So I found a way to remove the friction and make it easier:
I cloned my voice.
No seriously. I used ElevenLabs to create a synthetic version of my voice that now reads my scripts for me.
✅ I wrote it.
❌ I didn't record it.
✅ It sounds like me—actually, like a slightly more polished, robot version of me (my friends agree!)
🙌 And no, I didn't cringe once listening to it.
Here’s a YouTube video where my cloned voice narrates my article, The Antique Diamond Cut You’ve Never Heard Of—But Should Know About.
If hearing your voice makes you want to hide under the covers—or if you don't have time to market your work—this could seriously change your life.
But wait—it gets weirder...
There's another tool called HeyGen that can clone your face, gestures, and voice so it can create videos without you ever being on camera.
Your virtual twin could promote your designs while you recover from the Mother's Day rush.
Am I using that yet? Not quite.
But am I tempted? Absolutely.
So let's call this your Mother's Day gift: permission to show up without actually "showing up."
You don't need to love being on camera, styling the perfect setup, or even hearing your own voice.
You don't have to be a "content creator" to create content.
You're an artist. You make beautiful things with your hands. And your story deserves to be heard—even if it's an AI version of you doing the talking.
Until next time, let’s continue creating jewelry people can’t live without!
